I was recently asked this and it got me thinking. What IS prayer. Many people believe prayer is asking God for something. And that could very well be true for you. And if it is, consider this: what if you and God were one in the same? Made from the same cloth, the same energy, the same spirit?
What if we were all ONE in the Universe? What if anything and everything was actually one in the same? Stay with me here. Could you imagine a world where there is only one being who CREATES others in his/her image because it serves a purpose? And then what if those creations create their own reflections for a purpose of growth, learning, ascension? Hmmm….
So then if all of this was true (and this is truth for me), when you pray to God could it be that you are actually praying to yourself, because you are God? Calling on your own higher self, your own powers, and your own wise knowing to step in and support you? Since you created everything in your world for one reason or another, when we pray for assistance for ourselves and others, could we just be asking our souls why we picked this and how to fix it?
If all of this was true how would that change the way that you pray? How would it change the way that you act, think, and speak toward yourself? Sit with that for a second or two.
Going back to the original question: what is prayer?
To me, prayer is about connection. Connection with the Universe, God, Spirit. But ultimately myself. Which can be argued is one in the same. It’s about raising my own vibrations to be the best version of me, which is how we are all divinely called to show up. I believe prayer has been misconstrued for many, many years.
People say “I prayed but God didn’t respond”. Are you listening after you pray? Are you taking the time to savor the connection and paying attention to what follows? The signs, the visions, the words you hear or see? All of that is intuition, sometimes coming from you or others (because remember, you created them). Allowing us to grow, burn karma, and receive our ascension.
So now I want to know what you think. What is prayer for you?
