Caged the bird

I’ve been reading, listening, and speaking with women of all races, colors, religions, and backgrounds about the same issue for YEARS.

It’s the issue of feeling caged. Feeling broken. Feeling stuck.

Knowing you’ve outgrown parts of your life but feel responsible.
How can I leave?
How can I let go?
But how can I still hold on to something that is no longer meant for me?

Relationships, jobs, businesses, friends, homes, religions.

We humans CRAVE the connection to the group. Its root chakra, primal, foundational.
And we often fear that if we let go of something that can no longer contain us that we will lose that connection. Or worse yet we’ve been taught that if we WILD out (step out of the patriarchal line) we will lose money, safety, security, love.

I call bull shit.

And I also want to call you to join the wild womxn rebellion. Whatever that may look like for you. Make the change that your soul is calling for. Bite the forbidden apple. Break out of the cage.

I wrote this for you.

“drained
strained, restrained, and shamed
because she’s out grown
even her own
too small life
with only the drive to survive
womxn of the wild
were never meant to be restyled
compiled, tiled, refiled
wind in her face
this IS her place
rebellion on her lips
from her hips freedom drips
calling to her sisters
to also be quitters
release what no longer fits
bury the myths
of what a womxn is supposed to be
we’ll free them, you and me.”

I hope you meet me on the other side.
